My Revolution Poem by Deborah Dalton

My Revolution

Rating: 5.0

I agree with
Nikki G.
I want to write a
Revolutionary poem
But this time the
revolt is within

I must declare
my independence

Independence
from my
inhibiting habits
controlling insecurities
and the
labels and
stereotypes placed
by my
society

The only way
to rise
from the
pockets of
poverty and
obscurity
is to win
the war
within my
person
I must face
every battle
and
stand valiantly as
the
victor
I must
endure
that
fateful
challenge and continually
opens the tightly seal doors of
opportunity

Yes
I must write
that
Revolutionary Poem
But it must be
initiated
with a
statement
so profound
that it can
be easily
equated with the
shot heard world around
But so simple that
Even in my most confused
state
I would easily understand

How 'bout...

Let us begin...
