My Selfish Love Poem by Reekrit Serai

My Selfish Love

Do I keep you to myself,
And kill you from within?
My love was meant for you,
But now the mist's growing thin;

Do I keep you to myself,
And turn a blind eye to your cries for help?
I know that I'm not heartless,
Yet I want to put you through hell.

For that one second of happiness
That makes my day,
I'll keep you tied up
Throughout the pouring rain;

I'm scared to let you go,
And see loneliness become my friend,
But if you stay,
I'll make sure your suffering sees no end.
