My Shining light has left this world
and voyaged though to the other side
travelling though the night to say goodbye
just arriving as she took her flight.
Her pearls and flowers are left behind
her shining smile has disapeared from sight
For her journey home she didn't need to pack
but she left her words of care
she also left a legacy and embroidery of family entwined
She left behind a million smiles
grandchildren playing in the hay
She left behind a home which did not sway
I take her torch and hold it high to light up all the sky
On we march with happiness to know
that she's watching from on high
