My Smile Hides A Hundred Stories Poem by Nosisa Mdladlamba

My Smile Hides A Hundred Stories

Rating: 5.0

My smile hides a hundred stories
Behind one smile is a hidden fear
Behind another, a pain so deep
Behind my smile is a healing scar
My smile hides a hundred stories
It is an expression of my inner resilience
Sometimes bended, a few times tried and tested
My smile tells a hundred stories
It's what keeps my head held up high
My smile is my beauty for ashes

The day I stop smiling, will be the day of my defeat
My smile is my silent weapon
Sometimes crushed, betrayed and at times in despair
Yet my smile is what keeps me standing
My smile keeps me going
It's my beauty for ashes
The beauty of my inner strength
My smile hides a hundred stories
