My Soldier Heart Poem by Mpho Tsakata

My Soldier Heart

Rating: 5.0

Day and night you still training,
No rest, though sometimes i can feel you training slow then fast,
That strength thought you were gaining,
Shattered by another human pretty fast,

You've been broken by alot,
And few kept you safe where you belong,
You've gathered your pieces not to become something you're not,
But to become something better and more strong,

I can see those bruises and scratch marks,
You've traveled on roads not even my feet can step on,
At first it's a walk on a king's park,
Later on, treated like a useless pawn

You never gave up no matter what,
Your hard work reminded me that you're still my heart,
And surely you and i will never go apart,
My soldier heart.
