My Son Joseph James Poem by Jesus Diaz Llorico

My Son Joseph James

'It pained me to see...
that you grew up without me
that the only parent you see
was your mother Annalie

you don't know what I feel
when you have no one to reveal
about problems of male secrecy
that you face it all without me

for this I'm truthfully sorry
but I really love you so dearly
I know you will succeed in life
because of your tenacity

in life it's good to be religious
for it's considered so prestigious
that I may be out of your life story
but you will always be our baby.'

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My son grew up without me at his side, for I spent more than twenty years working in other country.
