My Star.... Poem by RIC BASTASA

you are the sun
and there are so many planets
around you
some want distance
others eat fire
some want so much cold
others radiate.

there is so much chaos
there must be a balance to
avoid dissolution

not too cold
not too far
not too hot
not too dominant

your journey shall
continue
for eons and eons.

i am on earth
in an evening sitting
in the cover of darkness
under the light of
the moon

To my mind, you shall
always be my star.
Into your distant silence
i submit my lowlyexistence.
