My Time Has Surely Come Poem by Derek Threadgill

My Time Has Surely Come

My life I know is very sad.
I yearn to be a loving dad.
The Obstacles are far and wide.
I've tried running around the side.
Now my legs are weary.
My thoughts are very dreary.
I know my life is over, please just let me sleep.
No longer do I want to be alive, but don't you start to weep.
My life has been a pleasure, a knightmare and a pain
I've tried to do my best but it all seems now in vain.
All I see in front is heartache, All I see behind has gone.
Now it's time for me, my time has surely come.
So when you sit and think of me don't think that I'm a coward.
I'm doing this to take away the darkness and I want to smell the flowers.
