Star light, star bright,
The most beautiful star in my sight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
To be with you for just one night.
To shoot through the sky in an endless flight,
To see the moon-dog and the star-phoenix fight,
The silver claws and the golden talons,
The deadly dance of the rival titans.
When all is over will be on our way,
To skim the rivers of the Milky Way,
And dread the arrival of the despicable day.
But unfortunately you are but a star in the sky
And no matter how hard I try and try,
You’re still a star-
In that yonder sky.
Didn't see the other version, but this one's okay, sorta. But is there any reason to dread the day that stars collide? Will it affect Earth anytime within the lifetime of my great great great great grandchildren? Besides, if I'm shooting through the sky on an endless flight I guess I won't be around for the destruction. So I guess the poem doesn't really add up to me. Maybe I'm missing something.
