Naive Love Poem by Michael Davis

Naive Love

Oh! To be in your embrace,
And to see that smile upon your face,
And to feel my heart quicken pace,
And to lie with you in this space.

Our souls entwined, as our hearts,
And for each day we spend apart,
I feel your presence as I wake,
Even in my darkest day.

Be mine, dear love, for not just today,
Be mine forever and in every way.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A somewhat naively written poem about the only women I've ever considered marrying. Alas, it was never meant to be, and our embrace is a distant memory. I may one day find comfort in writing more poetry.
