Naked Lies Poem by Asma Khan

Naked Lies

I was playing at the shore of emotions
with the sand of time
gathering unwritten moments
in my lap of destiny

There came the ruler of time
carrying a verdict of nature's tyranny
leaving me unarmed, unaware
of the consequences

The rule of the game was pretty simple
hunt the destiny or be hunted
by the awkwardness of the reality
in front of your eyes

I was told to believe in the unknown
following my fears and foes
keeping a heartless beat for
every mile I conquered

Never came a time when I forgot you
tearing my eyes with enormous grieves
recalling all those moments that
once left me unbroken till today
