Narrow Corridors Poem by Kelly Razi

Narrow Corridors

The simplicity that I feel I can comprehend.
You didn’t know where to begin.
I didn’t know where to end. Is it all wishful thinking?
One by one my sorrow lines up. The rain cant cleanse me.
I didn’t know I caused you harm.
I didn’t know that all this time I was the source.
I’ll pop in to check on you.
I don’t know what else I can say do or try to feel for you.
I wont be long. I owe you my emptiness.
Sometime soon I’ll surprise you finally.
Don’t cast me away. You know very well what goes on in my head.
The whisper of winter frost wraps around these old parts.
The dark blue swallows the stars.
I promise you that I’ll be back.
When you least expect it I’ll meet you and you said that it’ll all be ok. Do you mean what you say?
They wither as they glide to their bed.
Swooped up and disposed away.
Once admired now thrown blown torn by time.
The new now resume their throne.
Never forget. Look back and compare.
Through the past emerges the future.
When your down don’t mind. I promise you that I’ll find you.
The cold silence wont warmly contain me.
I see your face. Embrace. Rewrite and catch the memories.
Go about your day.
One day I know that I’ll see you. I mean what I say.
