Grow up quick
With a lust for life
Open to change
Loud, determined, proud
Focused, erect
With spirit
And head held high.
A native Texan has roots
As sturdy as an oak
As bold as a cypress
A love of history unequaled
In richness, adventure
Diversity, adversity,
Pride and nobility
Stands as tall
As the tales our forefathers
Loved to tell
Welcomes the world
To our door
With that famous
'Howdy, ya'll' hospitality.
A native Texan
Won't give in
Until their life is finished
Stubborn as hell
But heaven to know
And get connected to
Quick to proclaim it
So all can hear and see
'I’m a native Texan'
Now come along with me.
