Nature 7 - The Magnificent Mountains
Mountains are awesome!
Majestic monuments like solid structures.
When I take my first step towards you,
I am filled with hopes and aspirations in life,
To be a strong and determined, like you!
Mountains are many!
Myriad shapes and sizes,
When I take my second step towards you,
I am ready to take on different challenges in life,
To fill with courage, ready for any mission, like you!
Mountains rise like great walls!
Managing to stand high above from the grounds,
When I take my third step towards you,
I gather energy to confront any obstacle in life,
To firmly resolve to rise above any hurdle, like you!
Mountains are rocky terrains!
Manifold rumple like waves of creases and curves,
When I take my fourth step towards you,
I gather tenacity to unfold all my inhibitions in life,
To overcome the ridges and valleys, like you!
Mountains are so steep and slippery!
Magnificent range of blocks and domes,
When I take my fifth step towards you,
I pray, that if I fall, from duties or promises in life,
To lift myself once again, to fulfill my dreams, like you!

there is something inborn in us, i think, that is inspired by glimpsing distant mountains, that draws us to them. one of the things i most like about living here where i live is seeing the sandia mountains which rise to the east, marking that cardinal direction and especially beautiful at sunset as the red reflected sun and shadows cast give them their name, watermelon mountains. -glen
Absolutely beautiful and fascinating poetic essay which deals with the inspiring bond that the man has with 'The Magnificent Mountains' since time immemorial. I can recall a few poems where mountains have been portrayed as saviours of a country's territory from enemies and invaders or depicted as the abode of various gods. Conquering lofty mountain peaks brings great moral strength to those involved. The poems itself is a great inspiration. Thanks, Geeta ji.
