Near The End Poem by John Sensele

Near The End

I have shambled far and wide
I have searched high and low
I have decided to pour tears outside
I have determined to worry no more
I have thought it's no longer worth it
I have concluded speed has grown slow
I have been thinking it's time to quit
I have watched you fall beyond measure
I have encountered too much deceit
I have found a pristine pot of pleasure
I have flown through thick and thin
I have been locked in too much seizure
I have concluded you've grown mean
I have been losing too much altitude
I have crowned a new queen
I have sauntered into a new attitude
And on the new page she and I will grow tight.
