Needless Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Needless

Sitting tight I recalibrate my senses
Wilting away to determine direction
Patiently I appeal for maturity
To ease the burdens of insecurity
Time methodically passing
Years of misgivings and sorrows
A rear view of shadows pulling and tugging
Meticulously obliterating peaceful tomorrows
In silence the fair maiden squabbles
Receiving nothing for all of her troubles
Refusing to acknowledge a non incident
Inspires the outrage to double
Sitting tight I calculate
Slowly wilting I avoid her transactions
Patiently exhibiting maturity
To balance a lifetime of insecurity
My sanity constantly pummeled
Barraged by a need for attention
Positive bows down to negative
As long as there’s recognition
With venom the fair maiden stumbles
Constructing zero for all of her troubles
Refusing to add fuel to a non incident
Inspires her efforts to double
The silence is violently shattered
A flurry of non relevant chatter
Profanity laced condemnations
Needless but that didn’t matter
Looking for justification
She speed dials her friends on the phone
Turning to see worry faces
Saying “mommy please leave dad alone”
