Neighbours By B Hough Poem by George Bernard Hough

Neighbours By B Hough

Neighbours can be good or bad
make you happy make you sad
maybe making lifelong friends
never have to make amends.

A shoulder ready when your` sad
a cheery word to make you glad
a helping hand in times of need
your` expectations far exceed

A welcome smile, not like some
a big hello an ee by gum
Life`s too short it passes by
gone in the blinking of an eye

Friends we make along lifes way
may fall aside, not always stay
neighbours can be fleeting ghosts
never meeting next doors hosts

Some are there for many years
sharing smiles sharing tears
The little things they say and do
can make life pleasenter for you.

Do your` best to make them friends
helping when lifes river bends
let them see that you are there
you are their friend, you really care

When time comes for you to part
to move along with heavy heart
you both will know the time you shared
was spent with friends who really cared.

Very well said, som nighbours are good and some are like ghosts.Sometimes it also depends on how our attitude is towards our neighbours.
