Neruda Poem by Lola Sanchez

Neruda

Rating: 5.0

I do not love you except that I love you
Neruda had the strange phrase down to pat
I do not love you
But I do?
How can I,
when you make me doubt me and you and us?
when your paranoia has to become mine?
When can I be yours, as I am without having to change?
Compromise is one thing, but submitting another

I do not love you except that I love you
I love you when all is good and bad
I love when you are you and I am me
I do not love you when you're paranoid
-and no thats not who you are
I do not love this person, for who I am not enough.

I am not much, never very extraordinary,
But I thought I was enough...
