Nerves Poem by Shay Mitchell

Nerves

Fear racks my nerves,
beyond the slightest hope of recovery.
He looks my way,
tripping my emotions around.
This desire isn't my own,
for i hate the feelings of love.
I run away from it,
expecting the net to drop.
Freedom of heart is mine,
once again i evade the death grip.
No one can steal what is only mine,
and mine alone forever more.
Yes, greed is controlling me,
but only in the game of love.
Too many heartbreaks,
have caused me to wall it up.
So shoot me or not,
they aren't going to steal what i have left.
