Never Again Poem by Martins Akhoeneto

Never Again

Rating: 5.0

never again

will I raise grimy dust
as those that now lie
at the corridors of my heart
I say no! never again.

will hate and piteous plight
ever be a perfect relief
in the nitty niche
where peace and love domicile?

never will love-drunkenness
and mad lust for nothingness
blindfold me again, beyond
the horizons of my dreams.

for trust begets trust
so a penny is earned,
not for white elephant lanes
were you need to flog a fly.
