Never Happy Poem by Brian Ely

Never Happy

So my wound is healing
Numbness gone
I'm feeling
Yet in memory
I'm still reeling

Can't quite keep up
It is hard getting old

Yet my wound is healing
Such good news
I'm hearing
My memory true
I'm fearing

Can't quite keep up
It is hard getting old

My wound is healed
And i feel
I'm feeling
Though quite alone
I'm kneeling
Cold

Can't quite keep up
With these young pups
Yes
It is hard getting old
Though
I'm young again
Full of feeling
I'm feeling
Toward you now
Wow
Now i keep up
Fill my cup
It is hard being young.
