Never Know Poem by Leah DeCresce

Never Know

She's fixing her makeup in the bathroom mirror,
oblivious, he's miles away
but not farther than her trust can cover.
He's laying on the floor, sandwiched between two beautiful girls.
No marks will show so she'll never find out.
No words will tell so she'll never, ever know.

One kiss on the lips is all it took,
'this must be kept secret, '
it leads to another.
It's leading me farther
than I've ever been willing to go.

I walk to the bathroom, and he follows me in,
he kisses my throat, as clothes come tumbling down.
No one will ever know.

I woke up this morning, he was far away.
He's cold and he's distant, sending me home
as soon as my eyes agree to open.
No kiss good morning and no kiss goodbye,
he's filling the silence with an awkward,
final embrace.
No one will ever know.
