Drooping head of pansy bud,
white as first snowdrop,
shy as a girl
on her first day at school.
Her emerald star bonnet
and lime mittens,
straight from a page
in a nursery rhyme book.
She lifts unstained face
and gazes openly at the sky.
Blown left, right,
by summer breezes.
