Night
Is a sneaky, wily fox
A thief out to steal
daylight from the sky
Slowly stalking, slowly creeping
Catching Mother Sun by surprise
Like a child caught at the cookie jar
Night
Is a fleet footed panther
Catching daylight unawares
Covering up the suns fatuous beams
With her dark mantle
Cast over Planet Earth
A shadowy pall
And lulls the world to sleep
And Night rules supreme
Until daylight breaks again
