Night Poem by Sana Olivia Hernandez

Night

The night is dark,
Deep,
And enshrouding.

A cruel comfort.
A deceiving delight.

Inside it's shadows,
We can be who we are.
We cannot be judged.
But we cannot be seen either.

Our screams,
Our souls,
Ourselves,
Simply...
Fade.

The night is...
Mercy.

This is wonderful! Every line gives us unique take on the image of night and related images. You are NOT recycling clichés but giving us a fresh look because it's personal and takes us beyond the superficial observation. A CRUEL COMFORT. / A DEVIOUS DELIGHT is a charged couplet. It doesn't deny night can bring comfort and delight but it forces us to see more, see deeper. And the closing section is so vivid - and brings closure which I was not expecting as human emotions FADE as night conveys MERCY. Perfect ending, no need for another word.
