Baby Moon is wide awake,
laughing with her sparkling mirth;
Wide awake for heaven's sake,
beaming down for all she's worth!
Mother Earth is fast asleep,
'Neath night's cover; softest dark;
Sleeping soundly, dreaming deep,
waiting for dawn to embark.
For Father Sun has gone away,
across the seas he soon will rise;
and bring with him another day,
enlightening the waiting skies.
Baby Moon beams smilingly,
with sister Stars for company.
