Nightflower Poem by Felix Bongjoh

Nightflower

Rating: 5.0

Nightflower
The ship cuts horizon,
Crimson yelling behind,
Where sky kisses sea
With a soft arc, bud

Of blooming night flower
Brighter than lighthouse,
Only bare silvery light
With no arrow-lipped

Petals that pierce eye
And heart, the distant I,
A lover in the vessel -
O horizon where bond begins

And ends with a curved
Line, a brand-new snake
About to curl into a lover
When arrows shoot eye.

Weaving in and around targets and lovers and the anthropomorphic allegory of the landscape and horizon interacting like a lover and what attracts the eye. A night flower beaming more light than a lighthouse lets nature take over.
