Nightime Wishes Poem by Samantha Young

Nightime Wishes

Lying here alone
Listening to the voices of the night
Thinking of you
Wishing I was in your arms
Longing for your kisses
You are like the moon
Amazing and Luring
But also so far away
And my tears are like shooting stars
They glisten and fall silently
And hardly anyone notices
I miss you
I miss your smile and hearing your laughter
When You're not here
It is like half of me is gone
Like the clouds that hide the moon
Everything gets lost into the night
Without its light
Everything is dark and lonely
Just like my heart when you're away
But when the clouds roll off
The moonlight floods out
And it's overwhelming
And more stars come out
Just like more tears fall down
Finally,
I feel happy and complete
