Nightmares Poem by Jazz Christopher

Nightmares

I hear so many thoughts
Happy ones, sad ones, dark ones
Who am I to complain
We all have thoughts, thoughts, thoughts,
That I am trying to regain

We all have thoughts, thoughts, thoughts, having to obtain
They're echoing in my mind
Vibrating my soul
As I wonder to uphold

As I began walking through the night
Staring up at the big blue light
Walking so narrow, my legs feel like jello
Trembling at the thoughts that may come

I start to realize, that there's something going onthat I can't explain
I wonder through the dark, trying to find a way out, as I hold my hands together
making it through this weather wondering what will come next
I quickly find an exit

As I run, and run, and run and run
Its a never ending cycle
I was running toward my bicycle
Trying to escape

I rode up the hill,
Going inside a mill
Trying to hide
I showed a little face
Quietly stood in place
Wondering what'll happen

My thoughts ran amok
I think they're getting stuck
There's stuff I haven't explored
I tried to run away
Quickly as they came
They grabbed me

I tried, and tried, and tried
But to no avail
As I shook and screamed
I stuttered in between
What a terrifying night it has been
I woke up and started to scream
All to a very, very, very, bad dream
