Nine Eleven Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Nine Eleven

Nine Eleven

Sir, Mr. President,
May go buy for myself
A red cap to wear the:
"America First."

I agree, we think same
Though little different
In kernel of content.

You order the drones
To go, kill, shed blood
Of others, you insult,
You bully and do wrong
Even to your people.

Is true: "America First, "
When you are the leader.

Invite you to sit, watch
"Come From Away" musical:

The show is reminder
Of bad times, rainy days
And our way; as friends.

This great Musical
Speaks of relations,
USA's, Canada's
As friendly neighbours.

We stood by you when
Your life was miserable.

What is there to be said
Of you and your trend,
Mixing foes and friends,
Your threat of sanction?

I, sure, feel embarrassed,
Keep my mouth to myself,
Go and face your nation.

You Twit and badmouth
Everyone but yourself,
"Unaware are experts."

You felt, as do always,
That you are the saviour
And the lone prophet
For America being "First."

It was then that we talked
With makers, suppliers
To send us the shipment
Of the masks we purchased.

Our honest government
Would give them to people:
"They safeguard, prevent."

You saw us and others
Like news: "All is fake."

To me, you, never change
Are blind and remain
A hard rock, and lifeless!

I, therefore, talk with ones
With ears who have eyes:
"Our friends and neighbours,
We have been, shall remain
Humble and down to earth…"

We have saved hostages
We allowed your planes
We sheltered wanderers
In your worst rainy days.

Remember Bin Laden,
Remember Two-Sisters,
Remember the collapse,
Picture the fire's ash…

We were yours in such days.
