No Frankenstein Poem by Robert Mahoney

No Frankenstein

I walk alone through a massive crowd
Eyes down and focused upon the ground
Can't bear to see the looks in all their eyes
Unfortunately all they know of me is Lies
They don't know me they refuse to try
They all run away, why are they so afraid?
They see a monster, they see a Frankenstein
But I'm not a monster, got so much good inside

Maybe I
Come on too strong
Maybe I'm
The one who's wrong
I just wish
That they would see
I'm no Frankenstein
Maybe this
Will never change
Maybe they
Are too afraid
But i'm the one
Who's terrified
I'm no Frankenstein

I face judgment before I get a chance
Passed by without a second glance
Nobody cares to find the best in me
All they'll ever see is what they want to see
They don't know me they refuse to try
They all run away and this will never change
They see a monster, they see an Edward Hyde
But I'm not a monster, got so much good inside

Maybe I
Come on too strong
Maybe I'm
The one who's wrong
I just wish
That they would see
I'm no Frankenstein
Maybe this
Will never change
Maybe they
Are too afraid
But i'm the one
Who's terrified
But I'm no Frankenstein

All I ever asked for
Was to feel like i was wanted
All I ever did I did for you
But maybe I...cannot be strong
Why am I...always in the wrong
They all run away, why won't this ever change
They see a monster, they see a Frankenstein
But I'm not a monster, got so much good inside

Maybe I
Come on too strong
Maybe I'm
The one who's wrong
I just wish
That they would see
I'm no Frankenstein
Maybe this
Will never change
Maybe they
Are too afraid
But i'm the one
Who's terrified
But I'm no Frankenstein

Maybe I come on too strong
Maybe I'm the one who's wrong
But I'm no Frankenstein...
