No Good Sitting Dumb

Why do we go to church today?
Is it on God to wait?
To sing our song, kneel down and pray?
Or Christ, to celebrate

If Christ is now our Lord and friend
If truth is now our path
There’s more involved than just attend
If we’re to flee the wrath

God’s Flame must purge our sinful heart
So much is yet to do
We can’t just sit with no more part
Than sing within a pew

There’s something sadly wrong with this
At least there’s something odd
For no one truly wants to miss
A chance of pleasing God!

We all have words we’d love to say –Eph.5: 19
A treat the bride to feed –1Co,14: 26
Encouragement along the way
Some help for those in need

No good is done just sitting still
Or walking round as dead
The devil comes to rob and kill
And see whom he can bed

Through Jesus’ blood we’ve come to live
In Christ we stay alive
Quench not the flow of what He’ll give
To help another thrive

Lift up each one you fear to fall
Encourage all who swerve
Help Jesus bride give God her all
Hold nothing in reserve…
