No Longer Compromise Poem by Linda Barnes

No Longer Compromise

How did she become
One more in his tryst
Becoming the catalyst
And, no longer welcomed

She continues to believe
Every word that is said
How can she be so naïve
Of what just lies ahead

The other is blind
To who she is
And totally believes
She is just his friend

She wants to support him
And not cause problems
For to do so, surely
Would mean she might lose him

He takes for granted
All that she gives
It is not just his fault
But, hers as well

He won't be surprised
Once she has realized
She is just another lover
Among many others

But, there will be a price
When all comes to light
Once she decides
To no longer compromise
