No Man's Land Poem by Lauren Joy

No Man's Land

They're floating silently
Into No Man's Land
Hand grenades and lolliepops
Heart attacks and nightmares
They're crying softly
Into each other's ears
Gunfire and fairy dust
Diamonds and death stares
They're singing sweetly
As all words fail
Broken tunes and lullabies
Hummingbirds and acid rain
They're slipping away
Into a world of naivety
Laughter and blood stains
Lemon drops and lovely pain
