No More You Poem by Kewayne Wadley

No More You

I wish I didn't care how
Special you are.
I wish I wasn't so open
To how you call my name,
How content I become.
My heart a pendulum that swings
Back & forth,
Lost where there is nothing
To fear.
Carved out of dedication
Simply ticking.
I wish I didn't care how my eyes
Commit to seeing you everyday.
Losing track of time,
Spontaneous in your presence
The seconds that have experienced
The minutes &
The minutes that remember their way
To infinity.
I wish that time had more patience
Until there is no more me
& No more you
