No Turning Back Poem by Francis Duggan

No Turning Back

A celebrity his is a very great name
But he says for lost youth he would gladly swap his fame
But the clock on his life it keeps ticking away
And the reaper on him will have the final say
Five decades have passed since he was in his prime
But there is no turning back the passage of time
The old clock of Nature it ever ticks on
And his youth sad for him it forever has gone
Conceited by fame and his Worldly esteem
In life he has realized his every dream
But people do not age like good ageing wine
And he is fast approaching his life's finishing line
He would give all of his fame and money to be young again
But the past is the past that fact with us remain.
