Nobberly Knees Are Out Poem by Stephen Pennell

Nobberly Knees Are Out

Summer time and music in the air
And there are no clouds in the sky
Children laugh and smile
tennis on the tele, and strawberries in a dish
dust of the sun glasses, ready your cool
and bring the shorts and t shirts out.
nobberly knees see the light of day.
beer gardens buzz with drunken bees
car windows open, free radio concerts ring out.
The beaches fill with vested men, with handkerchief hats
Ice cream parlours ply their trade,99 please!
Festivals and farmers markets fill your weekends
barbeques sizzly with steaks and family gossip.
Please dont leave just yet.
