Noella Favier Poem by Francis Duggan

Noella Favier

Long before she married Ian Trickey Noella Favier was her name
But the reaper took her early and robbed her of her chances of fame
For she was a talented woman a wonderful piano player
A very creative musician and people like her are so rare.

She too was a poet and a singer songwriter I often heard Noella sing
Her beautiful voice so distinctive to it had a melodious ring
So well loved in the Yarra Ranges and none there to take her place
And everyone lucky to know her will recall her beautiful face.

Her seed in her two sons live on in Selby and her remains with the departed lay
The reaper he took her so early too early it would be fair to say
She was only in her late thirties her best songs not written or sung
In her case it surely was so true that only the good do die young.

She was such a beautiful person so talented clever and wise
Her passing though not unexpected came with great sadness and surprise
For she was known and loved far beyond Selby where for many years she did reside
She died young but our span of time as we should know is never for us to decide.
