North Of Finch Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

North Of Finch

North of Finch

In their map, it is called:
- 'The D-six'
-but to me it is life
-history is alive

The names of the roads are:
Apache
Cherokee
Navaho and Pawnee
And also
Tuscarora and Nootka
Then goes on
Yucatan and Shawnee

Suddenly see Inca
-and I laugh…
-searching for relations

Indigenous…
First Nations

To unite must cross
-vast ocean

I stop at some doors
-and seek help with questions:
- 'Why such name? '
- 'Its reason? '

It is sad…
No one knows! ! !

Want to shout:
'Land is theirs…'

Swallow my anger
- 'Black, White and Brown
-all of them are new immigrants! '
-I smile and dream:
- 'I know them and love them, '
- 'Studied…lived with them.'
