Not A Whisper Poem by Leslie Ching

Not A Whisper

Rating: 5.0

A sound rests on my tongue tonight-
Not a whisper, not a word
A shadow flicked by the trees tonight-
Not an owl, not a bird;

A burden rests on my shoulders tonight-
Not a grasping, not a clench
A scent drifted past my nose tonight-
Not a perfume, not a stench;

A fog clouds my vision tonight-
Not a raindrop, not a tear
A feeling of dread fills all my thoughts-
This thing they called a 'Fear'...
