Not Enough Time To Say &Quot;Hello! &Quot;

What madness is there in Life?
When we run around
Trying to make ends meet
We arise in the morning
And return in the evening
Without a kiss on the cheek
To say good morning

How tired we may be
And so occupied we do not intend
To pound on like the drumbeat
Unending and resoundingly
To hear another's plight
Or pick up the phone at noon
To say good afternoon

Is it not so sad to know?
That at night we behold
The traffic of returning souls
Into their numerous homes
Drained of all energy
And crash on the bed too tired
To say good evening

What madness is this that we call life?
When we acquire all we can pile
When we bicker with so much bile
Why do we race on with time?
Who will give us much respite?
Oh why do we struggle with life?
When all we could have done
Was find enough time to just say "Hello! "
