Not Everyone Can Poem by Francis Duggan

Not Everyone Can

Not everyone can become President and not everyone can become Pope
And some people have truck loads of money and some people are struggling to cope
It takes all kinds to make up humanity at least that is what we are told
But live for as long as you can live for the good too can live to be old,
It's true money speaks every language that's how it is and it always will be
With little money they manage to get by though they live in extreme poverty
And always the poor are affected when Mother Nature's anger grow
It has happened in Burma and China and in South Asia not long ago
Not everyone can become famous and wealthy though many to such things aspire
Of singing the praises of celebrities some people never cease to tire
Yet the gap between the haves and the have nots keeps widening and it seems to grow bigger each day
And the power is with those with the most money that's life as some are known to say
And though not everyone can become President and not everyone can become Pope
Live for as long as you can live for where there is life there is hope.
