Not Those Words Poem by Alexandra Bowden

Not Those Words

Everytime I am with you,
The words are on the tip of my tongue,
Everytime we are alone,
My body pulls forward to tell you.
I force myself not to say those words,
And why is a question you would ask.
It is because I do not want to ruin,
The time that we possibly have left.
So I keep quiet,
Hoping that if they are going to be said,
You will say them first.
But I wish they are not said,
Not now and not soon,
I hope to stay quiet for as long as I can,
In order to keep you close to me.
