Nothing Poem by La'Kira Jackson

Nothing

A little girl name Jesse was poor without a home,
So she decided to make her own living, just to see how it would be own her own.
And if she wanted to she could have stopped it,
Not to mention that she was adopted.
And what do she have, Nothing.
She was then alone, without anyone to love,
So she did the unspeakable and got on drugs.
She did what she had to and to the world she lied,
Not even knowing the drugs had ate up her insides.
And what do she have, Nothing.
She was very fake to the world, she was unfair,
And to make matters worse her foster parents didn't care.
She was tired of being in the world alone,
And if she was going to make a choice it would have to be on her own.
And what do she have, Nothing.
She was going to be herself, her life had her feeling low,
Come to find out her real parents had died two years ago in a car accident.
Now this was a little more than she can take,
She wanted to go to rehab but it was too late.
Now what do she have, Nothing.
Now she's in the hospital with none of her family members there,
She's preparing for surgery in intensive care.
Here being herself was a fact,
But during surgery she had died from a massive heart attack.
Now what do she have, Nothing.
She handled her life like a queen,
But what's left now, NOTHING.
