nothing quite painful
nothing so sad
than to realize the one you cherish
doesn't hold you in his eyes

nothing so hurtful
nothing quite bad
as to be treated undeservingly
by the one who holds your heart

and yet with each painful dawning
as you manage a bitter smile
you console your heart be happy
for at least he knows you're alive

yet still you can't help wonder
still you would ask why
why the one you gave your heart to
never seem to give you mind

and nothing too painful
nothing truly sad
than to know the one you love
will never choose to love you back....
