Nothing But A Lie Poem by Zoe Callender

Nothing But A Lie

What is it worth
to have money, fam, and fortune?
What is it worth
to sit in the chair?
What is it worth
to have everything you want?
And do you think it worth
to share?

What is the point
to find true love out there?
What is the point to have peace?
We have soldiers out there,
dying on their knees.

Peace is nothing but a lie
and that's all it will ever be.
And when you are coming back to me
I will be smiling.

You have proved that peace is wrong,
and a lie, and a cheat.
Just I'll be sitting here in many years
watching your wheat.

Thank me all you want,
but I won't care.
You thought it was right
and that love was everywhere.
