Now He Cuts His Own Hair. Poem by RIC BASTASA

Now He Cuts His Own Hair.

slippery as an eel
happiness
walks away and
did not have
the chance to
meet the laughing
ladle.

the barber
did not find love
cuts the hair
with hidden
hunger.

he goes to
the mirror
and cries his
anger.

now he cuts
his own hair.
