Now That It Is Almost Over

NOW THAT IT IS ALMOST OVER

Now that it is almost over
I understand how much I love and want it to go on
Now that it is almost over
I understand how good it can be
And how good it has often been
Not that it is almost over
I so much do not want it to be over-

But what I want does not really matter here-
I want it to go on and on
But it won't -
And I like the rest of them in the midst of it all
Will be taken from it
As if I did not matter to it at all-

Oh Life oh World how much I love you now
When I know I must leave you soon.

Poem of the Day

poet Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
