O Naughty Child..! [ Part- 9 ]

[ Part-9 ]

The moment the screaming creak
Of the old trunk waves out
As if in pain
You are on your twos
To the spot exact
And sit cross-legged
And wide-eyed
With a really innocent look!

O.. how disciplined and harmless
You sit beside!
A real treat to watch!
Yet so many 'whys '
Flit across my mind!

Though on guard
Assure myself-
' Perhaps no mischief now! '
How many moments
Could you tether your traits?
How can one insulate
One's intrinsic instincts?

Impossible to restrain
Your searching hands-
Alike elephant's
Ever probing trunk-
Pull this and that
And shuffle all -
Alike brisk ants
Your eyes rove everywhere-

You persistently ask-
What is this?
What is that? -
A thousand questions
In thousand ways
Eagerly expecting
Patient replies!

I reach my patience end
Egged on by the pain
Of your queries' stings
I slump into the slush of anger;

Kannaa, my dear!
None likes your presence
In the midst of his works;
'Keep off, donkey!
If not, skin you!
Will kill you
If don't keep quiet! '-

How many threats..!
How many curses!
You, however, ignore
All such warnings;

You seem to firmly believe
' To serve you only
I have my birth! '
And plunge into action
And scatter things
That fall in your grasp!

Now-
My thunderclaps
Crash on your back!
Howling lightnings
Flash on your face!
Yet like a solid rock
Remain rooted to spot!

Suddenly the BUDDHA in me
Quells my rage!
With the same suddenness
Rain kisses on your cheeks
And calm down
Your heaving sobs
By tight hugs
And promises false!

At the end of all
My works remain
Undone and more clumsy..!
