O River! Poem by Meraj Ahmed

Across the river, were waves,
so harsh, so severe
The tranquility, the calmness
was yet to arrive,
but I stood by its side,
for the hope was so rigid,
the anxiety was so real
and above all, there was no path
in front or behind me,
for which my heart could fell,
for my heart was so rigid
for the calmness of thy waters, o river!
So here I stand,
waiting for your wrath
to be engulfed by my love,
my patience, my wait.
